Woven Words

This past Friday night I kicked off my birthday weekend with dinner at the Outlets in Orange with my dad, his girlfriend, my sister, and my fiance.

We intended to each at Saddle Ranch, where we made reservations, but decided on a whim to try Market Broiler instead. And let me just say, this decision was not made in vain! Everything we ordered, from the food to the drinks, was delicious. I appreciated the quality of the seafood that was served, along with information on the menu indicating its freshness. Free birthday dessert was pretty nice, too.

Saturday was a day filled with wine tasting in Temecula with my fiance, sister, mother, stepfather, and grandmother. Our three stops included Mount Palomar, Leoness, and South Coast, where we also grabbed lunch. I tend to forget how lightweight of a drinker I can be, so I admittedly fell asleep during our meal. But the cat nap did power me up for dinner at my house that night with some close friends.

Earlier in the morning, Mike and I threw a recipe for Chicken Parmesan Casserole in the crock pot so that by the time we got home for dinner, it would be ready. The casserole with a side of broccoli and Babycakes cupcakes for dessert was the perfect arrangement for a night in with my girlfriend and her husband. We spent a good chunk of our time discussing our Patronus results, now that Pottermore has officially launched a quiz. Of course, Nym stole the show when she decided to hide in the Babycakes takeout bag. She really knows how to be the life of the party.

That’s the roundup for part one of my birthday weekend. I’ll get to part two soon, which involves a ton of nature and relaxation. And more wine!
